Boeing Will Supply F-15’s Fitted with Israel-Manufactured Systems to Saudi Arabia

Boeing has signed agreements with Rafael (Israel Armaments Development Authority), and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), to integrate their systems into hundreds of aircraft supplied over the next decade.

Systems developed by Israel’s defence industries will be installed in the F-15S aircraft that Boeing will supply to Saudi Arabia. Boeing’s William L. Stowers, vice president-general manager for supplier management and procurement, confirmed the information to "Globes".

Rafael (Israel Armaments Development Authority) will supply the APG-70 radar transmitters developed by Hughes, that are fitted on the F-15. The cost of the radar is $5 million, and the cost of the transmitter, which is one of the main components of the radar, is more than $1 million.

Boeing, together with twenty-five representatives of large US companies, has today opened a Tel-Aviv convention to find new suppliers. Representatives of 120 Israeli companies came to the convention, and Boeing said they planned to increase procurement in Israel.

Since 1979 the company has purchased $1.4 billion worth of equipment from Israel. Following Israel’s acquisition of the F-15E, $84 million worth of reciprocal purchases have been effected. At the opening of the conference, Ministry of Defence director general Ilan Biran said Boeing would shortly issue licenses allowing other Israeli companies to supply products to it.
