Clal has withdrawn from partnership with Mothercare in
Israel.
The British company Mothercare, which controls about
50% of the baby products market in England, will
distribute products of the Israeli company Tough Toys
at its approximately 250 branches throughout Great
Britain and another 100 branches in the rest of the
world. An agreement to this effect was signed between
the owners and managers of Tough Toys, Yonatan and
Dafna Levy and the management of Mothercare in England
recently.
The Tough Toys products will be marketed in
packaging with the Mothercare logo. The company
received orders for about 30,000 products for Christmas
1996. The company's management stated that this
represents a 25% increase in orders for Tough Toys
compared to 1995, which was the company's first year of
export to England.
