Cellcom Equips IBM Israel with Cellular Phones

Cellcom will outfit 400 IBM employees and has set up a distribution center at IBM House in Tel Aviv along with a car phone installation facility.

After a prolonged inspection period, Cellcom has been chosen IBM Israel’s cellular telephone and car-phone supplier. Cellcom will outfit 400 IBM employees as part of an overall effort by IBM to equip senior managers, marketers and service-persons with cellular phones, in order to improve service.

Cellcom has set up a distribution center at IBM House in Tel Aviv, in order to facilitate rapid deployment of the cellular phones within several weeks. The company has also set up a car phone installation facility in the IBM House parking lot.

In addition to the new contract, Cellcom’s list of major customers now includes government ministries, the Israel Electric Corporation, Strauss, Digital, Tadiran Telecommunications, SuperGas, Feuchtwanger, Telrad, and the Israel Police Force.
