EduSoft has made available on the Internet 22 courses in mathematics and 21 courses in physics, comprising a total of over 400 interactive problem solving
sessions, aimed at junior and high-school students, as well as individual home users. All sessions are offered in both English and Spanish.
"The launching of our Virtual Classrooms on the Internet, making available our math and physics programs, is the first step in EduSoft’s overall Internet strategy," said Menachem Hasfari, EduSoft’s CEO and President.
The strategy will be implemented in three stages. The first step was to offer on the Internet a significant portion of the company’s science line, making it available to both schools and individuals. Use of the virtual classrooms is at this point free of charge. During the next couple of months, Edusoft plans to analyze who is using it and how frequently, before deciding on prices and billing techniques.
The second phase, scheduled for the end of 1997, will be to create connectivity between Edusoft’s proprietary English Discoveries and the Internet, in order to enable users access to other pedagogical sites and additional materials.
The third phase, planned for 1998, will establish a "Virtual Campus", an Internet-based software platform to provide real-time Distant Learning sessions to schools and individuals. The Virtual Campus facility will enable large numbers of students and instructors real-time interactive lessons at the same time.
