Former Siemens Data Communications CEO Sam Widerman has set up a new technology company as an Israeli, US, and Jordanian partnership. A Palestinian partner for the company is currently being sought.

The new company, Visuality Systems, was set up with the aid of support from the Peres Peace Center. The US partner is US company Channel Active, which specializes in marketing information technology to leading companies, Microsoft among them. The Jordanian partner is Zaina Technologies. Contacts are at an advanced stage in the company’s search for the Palestinian partner.

The joint company started operating in October 1998 from centers in Israel and Jordan, but up to now its activity has remained confidential. The company develops applications for the Soho (small office home office) market, which means mainly home use and small computers. The intention is to develop software that will also be purchased by the world’s leading companies.

The investment in the joint company is estimated at $1.5 million for the first year. Under the rules of the Peres Center, the investment, and revenues, are divided equally between the partners.
