Foreign Sources: Israel Offers India Air-to-Air Missiles Developed in Secret Rafael Project

The first radar-guided missiles developed in Israel will be used to upgrade the Israel Air Force's F-16.

According to foreign sources, Israel has recommended the Indian Ministry of Defense equip itself with air-to-air Alto missiles. These missiles were originally developed in a secret Rafael (Israel Armament Development Authority) project, directly for the Israel Air Force. According to the sources, the Alto is the first radar-guided missile developed in Israel.

The sources claim that the missiles will be used to upgrade the Israeli Air Force’s F-16's. In India they could fit into plans to upgrade the Indian Air Force's fleet of combat aircraft.

According to these sources, testing of the missiles has begun, as is their launch capability from airplanes.
