Check Point Software Technologies (CHKPF) today announced that France Telecom will
standardize on the Check Point FireWall-1enterprise security suite to
provide managed Internet services. By integrating FireWall-1 into its managed
offerings, France Telecom, one of the largest telecommunications companies
worldwide, hopes to provide comprehensive solutions to the Internet, Intranet, and Extranet security needs of its corporate customers.
Under the terms of the agreement, France Telecom will utilize
Check Point's solutions to manage the installation, configuration, management
and monitoring of the customer's security requirements. France Telecom will
provide these services for either customer premised equipment or equipment
located within a France Telecom network operations center, with the
ultimate goal of enabling customers to conduct secure, reliable, and
manageable business communications using the Internet.
FireWall-1 will be integrated into France Telecom's selection of managed security
services. In addition, Check Point provides telecommunications providers with OPEC
(Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity) architecture. OPSEC manages and
integrates all aspects of enterprise security through an extensible
framework. OPSEC allows ISPs and telecommunication providers such as France
Telecom to integrate security
applications for each customer's particular requirements.
"We are pleased that France Telecom, Europe's largest telecommunications
provider, has chosen to standardize on Check Point's technologies worldwide,"
said Marius Nacht, vice president of international operations at Check Point
Software Technologies. "Check Point's open, policy-based management will
enable France Telecom's customers to conduct secure, reliable and manageable
communications with their customers, business partners and employees."
