The hyperfax service is based on fax technology via the Internet, and is designed to provide a wide range of inexpensive fax services focusing on the target business sector’s requirements.
France Cable et Radio (FCR), a France Telecom group company, will operate hyperfax services using the i-Tone system of ArelNet, a subsidiary of Arel Communications. The new service has already been in operation in five countries since December 1998, and is planned to be expanded to another ten countries very shortly.

In the initial stage, FCR’s service will be based on save and send technology, followed shortly by added value services, such as dispatch of computerized faxes from PCs and e-mail.
Arel Communications and Software designs, develops and markets a family of products based on the IDEAL (Interactive Distance Education and Learning) system, which it markets in Canada and the US through a subsidiary located in Atlanta.
