Geula Amir, Mother of PM’s Assassin, Petitions High Court to Indict Avishai Raviv

The petition argues that some of Raviv’s activities were connected to the assassination of late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Raviv was exposed as an agent of the General Security Service.

Geula Amir, mother of Yigal Amir, who assassinated late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, today petitioned the High Court of Justice against Attorney General Elyakim Rubinstein and Avishai Raviv, demanding that Raviv be indicted for illegal activities carried out between 1988-1995.

Geula Amir claims some of Raviv’s illegal activities are directly related to Rabin’s assassination.

Raviv was an extreme right-wing activist who participated in anti-Rabin rallies, including the infamous demonstration at Zion Square. Channel 1 broadcast a poster displayed at that demonstration and made by Raviv which showed Rabin in a Gestapo uniform. After the November 4, 1996 Rabin assassination, journalist Amnon Abromovitz exposed Raviv as an agent of the General Security Services code-named "Champagne".
