This morning, Golan Heights police closed off the area of the Druse villages on the Golan Heights, because of the decision by the Druse to hold demonstrations in support of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, and to hold a commercial and school strike.
Golan Heights police commander superintendent David Ben-Atia said: "We closed the area of the villages. No-one was allowed to enter, and we hope that, apart from the demonstrations, there won’t be any other nationalistic incidents".
The police and the IDF view the demonstrations of support for the Iraqi president with the utmost gravity.
Golan Heights residents even said that protective kits should be withheld from inhabitants who support the Iraqi President.
