"The Israeli soldier is our direct enemy, but the finance and political backing are guaranteed by the US."
Hezbollah general secretary Sheik Hassan Nasralla said today that "the US administration is our real enemy, because it is behind the attacks on our people in the region.
US administrations down the years were responsible for every drop of blood spilt in Lebanon, for every house destroyed, for every tree that went up in flames because of the Israeli bombardments," Nasralla stated in an interview with the "Al Wassat" newspaper.
"The Israeli soldier is our direct enemy, but the finance and political backing are guaranteed by the US, which undertook to maintain Israel’s supremacy over all the countries in the region," he added.
As will be recalled, US ambassador to Lebanon David Satterfield yesterday encountered a demonstration by Hezbollah supporters in the Lebanon valley. His bodyguards were compelled to threaten with loaded weapons to rescue the convoy, while demonstrators waved anti-Israel and anti-US placards.
