The hotel is meant to accommodate pilgrims arriving for the year 2000.
The Howard Johnson Israel hotel chain, owned by the Israel Land Development Corporation, has signed an agreement in principle for the construction of a 200 room hotel in Nazareth. Investments in the project will amount to $20 million.
The hotel, of popular tourism standard, will be built near the Church of Mary’s Well in the centre of Nazareth. It is meant to accommodate pilgrims arriving for the year 2000. It will consist of four floors, rising above the town’s first shopping mall, and will offer three parking storeys. It will also have conference halls for Christian assemblies, a swimming pool and a sport centre, that will serve both hotel guests and local subscription holders.
