Israeli company Check Point is strengthening its position in the security software market in Europe, according to a new survey by IDC. The survey examined the European market for Firewall software (which protects computer networks from hostile penetration). According to the survey’s findings, Check Point sold 61% of the total Firewall units sold in Europe last year.
In addition, the survey examined the VPN network market for the first time. (Virtual Private Networks enable companies to build organizational communications networks based on public Internet infrastructure.)
