The Ministry of Communications has accredited ITL company of Or Yehuda to type test telephone terminal equipment, including telephony, safety, and EMC testing.
ITL is one of Israel’s biggest private companies accredited to grant international standardisation approvals, to conduct standardisation testing and to provide consultation on solutions in standardisation problems.
On gaining this accreditation, ITL becomes the only private company entitled to perform standardisation testing for the importers of telephony equipment. The other accredited body is the engineering and licensing division of the Ministry of Communications itself.
Paving the way for this breakthrough was the set-up, by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, of the Israel Accreditation Committee. A private company whose laboratories meet the ISRAC’s strict criteria, may obtain accreditation to perform private market standardisation testing.
The terminal equipment includes ordinary and wireless telephones, facsimile machines, answer machines, telephone exchanges, modem-fax cards etc. Testing is performed in accordance with Ministry of Communications specifications. ITL general manager. Alan Clayman, says the company is accredited to approve the US FCC standard and can provide services also to exporters.
