Trading volume averaged NIS 196 million per day in January.
During the month of January, in which the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange indices increased by 15%, trading turnover also increased substantially. Trading volume averaged NIS 196 million per day in January. This is the highest level posted at the exchange since September 1994. Daily volume in bonds averaged NIS 216 million and in short-term-loans the average was NIS 89 million. Trading also increased Maof-index options to 650,000 options. However, shekel-dollar options decreased to 76,000 options.
At the end of January, share and warrant market value stood at NIS 135.6 billion, similar to the bond market value which increased 2% during January.
