The investment is in V-Active, an innovative video authoring tool and playback environment that allows hyper-linking of full motion digital video.
Japanese software house Nippon Systemware (NSW) will acquire Ephyx Technologies’ V-Active technology for fully interactive video authoring and will invest $1 million in the company. The announcement was made by Amir Pomerantz, vice-president of Triangle Technologies, which brokered the deal.
NSW will market Ephyx products both directly and via OEM agreements, under the NSW brand name.
The V-Active video authoring tool has coined a new term for the multimedia dictionary: Hyper-Video. It enables users to receive information while watching video. For example, users watching a visual image of an automobile, can press a button and get detailed information about the car or an order form.
Ephyx Technologies is an Israeli-based software house, developing processing software for interactive video. The company was founded in 1994 and has offices in Herzliya and San Francisco.
