Madge, the British communication company, leased a 4,600 square
meter building at the Jerusalem Technology Park (JTP) project, from JTP
company. Madge will pay $15 per square meter a month, index linked, in a
ten year contract. The formal contract will be signed within several
days.
Leasing fees are made up of $11 per square meter for the building, and
another $4 per square meter a month for additional installations such as
air-conditioners. These are the highest leasing fees paid in the
project. JTP is owned by Isras Investments Company (74%) and the
Jerusalem Development Authority (26%).
Madge preferred JTP's offer to that of Rad-Binat, which is currently
constructing a hi-tech building in Har Hahotzvim. Rad-Binat leasing fees
are lower by one dollar per square meter than those of JTP.
Madge, which is controlled by Robert Madge, is active in the
communications industries of some 20 countries. Israel is one of the
company's five business centers, with the other four located in
California, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
