Malam Systems Signs NIS 23 Mln Contract with Elections Committee

Malam Systems will set up a computerized elections information system for the Ministry of the Interior through which citizens can verify whether they are eligible to vote in the general elections.

Malam Systems has signed a contract with the central elections committee for the provision of computerized services relating to the general elections for Prime Minister and the Knesset, to the tune of NIS 17 million. Should a second round of elections for Prime Minister be required, Malam will undertake the project for the Ministry, at a cost of another NIS 5.7 million.

Under the terms of the contract, Malam Systems will set up a computerized elections information system for the Ministry, through which citizens can verify whether they appear in the vote registry and are eligible to vote in the general elections. The company will also set up a computerized voice mail service that will enable voters to verify the location of the polling station at which their names appear. In addition, Malam will computerize the network of regional elections committees, which are charged with the operative running of the elections in the country’s various towns and villages.

On election day, the company will collect the protocols of the 8,000 polling station committees, input the election results to the main computer, and sum up the votes.
