The Maccabi Health Fund is to receive NIS 193 million in aid from the Ministry of Finance - most of the amount is designated to covering the deficit created in 1995 due to the State Health Insurance law coming into effect. At the same time, the health fund is required to take efficiency measures in order that it reach full break-even point in its regular budget in ’98.

A rehabilitation agreement between Maccabi Health Fund and the government is presently in the final stages of formulation, and is to be signed in the next few days.

"Globes" also learned that the Maccabi Foundation, which provides fund members with the supplementary medical service, will be party to the rehabilitation agreement.
