A new production line will produce 5,000 tons of cement a day, using the dry method.
The board of directors of Mishab, Nesher’s parent company, yesterday approved the construction of an additional production line at its factory in Ramleh, at a $175 million investment. This production line will produce 5,000 tons of cement a day, using the dry method.
The project will be financed by independent sources and bank loans. Its launch is expected at the beginning of ‘97 and construction will continue through the second half of ‘99.
The construction of a second dry production line is part of Nesher’s strategic plan to meet expected demand for cement, as well as to improve efficiency and, by replacing all the wet presses with dry ones, make the factory more environment-friendly.
Chairman of Nesher’s board of directors Yossi Rosen reported that the board had also approved the investments required for pre-treatment and treatment, with authorisation required to construct a dry production line at the company’s factory in the town of Nesher. Company officials estimate that construction work on this line will begin in ‘99.
