The head of the Palestinian delegation to the negotiations with Israel, Sa’eb Erekat, said this morning that, at the meeting, Arafat will raise the question of Israeli withdrawal from rural areas, scheduled for the beginning of March, and that the two will also discuss preparations for the talks on the final settlement.
"We are keen to reach agreement over renewal of talks on the final settlement, which is planned for next month", he said. Erekat went on to say that Arafat will demand that Netanyahu halt settlement construction and expropriation of Palestinian land, and annul the residence status of Jerusalem residents who live outside the city boundaries.
