Oct 30, "Tel Aviv": 53% - Another Prime Minister Could Be Assassinated in Israel; 18% - Netanyahu Was Responsible for Rabin’s Assassination

This survey was conducted by the Ma’agar Mochot company during October 1997 and published in a special edition of the newspaper "Tel Aviv", Yediot Communications’ local Tel Aviv weekly. The edition commemorates two years since the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

In response to the question, could a prime minister be assassinated again in Israel? 53% said yes, 2% said maybe, and 23% said no.

Among other questions, the survey asked interviewees their opinion on the extent of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s responsibility for deeds that led to Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination.

The survey indicated the following answers:

  1. Greatly responsible - 18%
  2. Slightly responsible - 37%
  3. Not responsible at all - 45%
