PC Etcetera, of the Elron group, has announced its first Hebrew
language versions for professional training products in the new Help+
self-training series. The system is based a user interface developed by
PC Etcetera, which provides an easy to use guide and "on-line
instructor", operating side by side with popular Windows applications.
The system packs a vast knowledge base accessed via smart agents,
exactly where and when the user needs the specific topic. Help+ pointers
direct attention to specific locations on the window and a "follow me"
process, to guide the user through the active process of the task, until
it is absorbed. It thus provides "Just In Time" learning, as the user's
attention is devoted to specific tasks he is encountering during his
routine work. According to Avshalom Aderet, General Manager at the
company, Help+ can also be used as a refresher and for condensed
seminars and tutorials, where the trainee can take back to his work a
detailed overview of all the topics and details learned, and use them
exactly when he needs them in his daily work. Titles available in Hebrew
include Word 6.0, Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and the Internet. English titles
also include all Microsoft Office applications and part of the Lotus
SmartSuite components
