Pizza Hut Advertising Goes to Gitam

Its advertising budget is $2 Mln. Over recent years, Pizza Hut in Israel has incurred financial losses even though the fast-food market in Israel is on the increase.

Gitam BBDO Image Promotion Systems has obtained the Pizza Hut chain’s advertising budget, which has been handled by Bauman Ber-Rivnai for the last three years. More than six months ago, Clal Retail Chains sold Pizza Hut to contractor Shlomo Dahuki. Pizza Hut intends expanding the number of branches from it present 16 to 25, and repositioning its Israeli activity. It also intends increasing its advertising budget to $2 million, in contrast to less than $1 million this year.

Gitam Advertising and Bauman Ber-Rivnai refused to comment, but a Pizza Hut spokesperson confirmed the report.

Over recent years, Pizza Hut in Israel has incurred financial losses even though the fast-food market in Israel is on the increase. Pizza Hut has struggled to position itself between the fast-food chains and conventional restaurants.

The worldwide Pizza Hut chain is owned by Pepsico, which has appointed Paul Van Saaden as the chain’s new General Manager. Pepsico’s global advertising budget is handled by the advertising agency BBDO.
