The Blue Square and Foodstuffs projects will generate over $2 million in revenues for POS.
Herzliya based Point-of-Sale (POS), which specializes in developing software systems for managing retail points of sale, has recently announced two large transactions, in Israel and New Zealand. Israel’s Blue Square (Co-op) chain has chosen POS to manage new checkout points based on new registers produced by IBM, and Siemens Nixdorf (marketed in Israel by Eldor) in 70 branches. The project’s revenues will amount to $1.5 million. The Co-op project includes software and hardware adaptation, and consultation and operation services.
In another transaction, POS in partnership with New Zealand Unisys, has been chosen to supply software to computerize the two largest supermarket chains in New Zealand.
In the 80 branch Foodstuffs supermarket chain, POS will install its program, together with Unisys, in registers produced by Siemens Nixdorf. POS has successfully completed developing and applying support for credit card purchases approvals in the chain. In the Progressive chain, the Israeli company will cooperate with Fujitsu. This chain, based in Aukland the capital, has 60 branches. The Israeli program will be installed in NCR 7450 registers, to be supplied by Fujitsu.
POS's share in the two projects amounts to $500,000 for supplying the software, and development during the next two years.
