Police Recommend Closing Lieberman File on Broadcasting Authority Reports

Legal proceedings are recommended against Yaron Zelika, an assistant in the Prime Minister's Office.

The Israel Police recommend closing the criminal file against Prime Minister's Office chief of staff Avigdor Lieberman, who was interrogated on prima facie suspicion of falsifying documents of the office of the Broadcasting Authority’s internal auditor.

The head of the investigating team recommends that the file be closed in absence of proven culpability and that steps be taken against Yaron Zelika, an assistant in the Prime Minister's Office, who authored the summary report on the Broadcasting Authority that was laid before the government.

The investigation focused on three complaints lodged against Avigdor Lieberman. One came from Broadcasting Authority Director-General Mordechai Kirschenbaum. It alleged that Lieberman had falsified reports and placed them before the government. The investigation indicates that Lieberman was uninvolved in and unconnected with the composition of the summary report.
