Pyramid Research Acquired by Economist Group

Leading Israeli firms such as ECI Telecom, Tadiran, Telrad and others, regularly resort to Pyramid’s assistance in order to penetrate new markets

The US consultants firm Pyramid Research, which operates in Israel through Concept Consultants, has been acquired by Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Economist group, the global leader in the supply of business, economic and political information to senior managers and government concerns in 180 states. The company has head offices in London and New York.

Subsequent to the acquisition, Pyramid announced the diversification of its services and primarily the expansion of its data collection system, the acceleration of the supply of information to subscribers and the introduction of technological improvements designed to facilitate the regular and time-scheduled supply of information to subscribers through the use of advanced EDP means.

Pyramid Research, which specialises in strategic consultation to the telecommunication industries, constitutes a global network of business information which monitors trends and developments in the field of telecommunications in emerging markets.

Pyramid is represented in Israel by the Concept consultation firm, which specialises in marketing and strategic consultation to high-tech industries, especially in the field of telecommunications. Concept serves as Pyramid’s long arm in Israel both for covering events and trends on the Israeli telecommunications market and for marketing Pyramid’s consultation services to customers in Israel.

"Israel has recently come to constitute a focus of interest, especially since the market has been opened up to international telecommunications competition and in view of the astounding speed of penetration of cellular communications. Pyramid specialises particularly in emerging markets, which are even more difficult to analyse and forecast.

"Leading Israeli firms such as ECI Telecom, Tadiran, Telrad and others, regularly resort to Pyramid’s assistance to penetrate new markets and obtain a competitive edge there, Concept general manager Ofer Atzmon told "Globes".

Concept’s customers include leaders in the Israeli telecommunications world, such as: Bezeq, ECI Telecom, Telrad, Pelephone, Efrat Future Technologies, Shiron Advanced Communications, Nexus Telecommunications, the Clal concern and the Dankner group.
