The company intends to sell its plant in Ashdod which employed 120 workers.
International concern Revlon recently decided to terminate manufacturing activity in Israel. The company, which examined the matter for a long period of time, reached the conclusion that the Israeli operation was not economically viable to maintain, due to the limited market and heavy manpower costs.
In the past the company had undergone reorganization, downsized manufacturing activity over a period of several years, and increased imports of Revlon products.
Revlon currently owns a factory in Ashdod which employs 120 workers. The plant is situated on high-value property, which Revlon intends to sell.
Revlon also employs a marketing and sales staff of 130 persons. As the company will continue to import products to Israel, estimates are that Revlon will maintain the bulk of this staff.
