The funds were invested in the set-up of a manufacture and marketing
system, and in opening a delicatessen at Gan-Ha'Ir.
The New York businessman Ronald Lauder, one of the owners of the
Estee Lauder Cosmetics company, and Irit Colber, wife of businessman
Yonathan Colber, have acquired, under a private placement, 35% of the
shares of the Ran Shmueli catering company, at a price of about $ 4.5
million. The consideration of the transaction has been invested in the
set-up of a manufacture and marketing system, including central
kitchens, in the industrial zone of Ramat Hasharon, cold storage and
deep freeze facilities, refrigerated delivery trucks and computerization
as well as in the development of a gourmet delicatessen chain-store.
Lauder has additional investments in the restaurant field in east
Europe, primarily Hungary, and the acquisition of the Ran Shmueli
shares is a first foothold for him in the Israeli foodstuffs sector.
