A software conversion project, considered one of the largest in Israel, was completed this week, with the installation of a SAP program at the Dead Sea Works. On completion of the project, all the company’s computerized systems were converted for use in the software, so that from now on its applications will be used throughout the company, even in subsidiaries.
The use includes, among other fields, procurement, contractual relations with sources outside the companies, inventory planning, finances, bookkeeping, accounting, costing and control, maintenance and human resources.
According to DSW general manager Shaul Ben Zeev, the company invested over NIS 15 million in the project, it took over a year to complete, and 600 workers were employed in it.
Ben Zeev said, "Installation of the new software solved the company’s anticipated problems in information systems in the year 2000, and represents another layer of the company’s strategy of using advanced technology."
