Scitex Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Scitex Digital
Printing, Inc. (SDP) of Dayton, Ohio USA has received a $35 million
order to supply print engines and other components to a major
manufacturer of business forms systems located in Japan.
Scitex emphasized that this order represents a new application for
the company's technology. The systems to be delivered will be able to
print 100%-variable information at speeds up to 200 meters (656 feet)
per minute using 10 printheads. These will be set up for duplex
(two-sided) printing with 3 colors. Whether a record to be printed
consists of one page or fifteen, the complete document can be printed
out in a single-pass operation, eliminating the need for pre-printed
forms
