Siemens Seeks More Israeli Investments

Siemens has already briefed potential local partners reagarding its standards, quality requirements, and pricing.

German industrial corporation Siemens is seeking more opportunities for investment in Israel. The company has already entered into partnership or acquisitions in Israel’s communications, semiconductor and energy sectors, and is seeking more channels to enter the local market. These channels include R&D, subcontracting, joint-ventures and purchasing.

Siemens has briefed potential local partners reagarding its standards, quality requirements, and pricing.

Siemens has cooperative agreements in place with Ormat (geothermal energy systems), Orbotech (printed circuits and LCD display testing systems), Tadiran (telecommunications and military communications systems). Additionally, Siemens has executed acquisitions of companies such as Ornet Fast Switching Experts, and established semiconductor design firm IC Com. Last year, total Israeli purchases from Siemens were $168 million, and Siemens' procurements from the Israeli market totaled $130 million.
