Elite is expected to announce the appointment of a
General Manager this week. After evaluating a number
of candidates, a final list including six of these
has been determined, one of them from inside the
company. The list includes Shmuel Frenkel, Yossi
Rein, Benny Zinger, Amikam Shapira and Amnon
Dick.
According to estimates, Dick, currently General
Manager of the Shekem, has the best chance of
receiving the position. Dick served as Deputy
General Manager of Elite until three years ago,
responsible for marketing. He expressed an interest
in the appointment to General Manager at the time,
but was rejected by Federman and resigned. He served as
General Manager of Jafora-Tavori for two years, and
was appointed General Manager of Shekem about a year
ago.
Amikam Shapira served as General Manager of
Strauss for about 5 years, Benny Zinger served as
General Manager of the Strauss Investment Company and
Yossi Rein served as Strauss's outside counsel and is
also considered a candidate with chances of
appointment.
After the appointment of a General Manager,
Federman is expected to reduce his activity as an
active CEO of Elite, and to act through the executive
committee appointed, including his brother Shalom and
Michael and Ofra Strauss. Ofra Strauss's candidacy
for the position of General Manager was also
considered, but apparently removed from the
agenda
