Software Co Baan to Establish World Support Center in Israel

The Israeli center will be the only one to function on Sundays.

International company Baan, one of the world’s largest enterprise resource planning (ERP) companies, is opening a world wide support center in Israel, at an investment of more than $2 million. The Israeli center will be one of four company support centers which will be responsible for providing support services to Baan customers throughout the world. The other world-wide centers are in the Netherlands, India, and the US.

Baan Israel operations and development manager Eyal Rosenberg said that the center will start operating in six months, and will employ twenty workers. The new center will operate alongside the Dutch center, while the Indian and US support centers will serve the western hemisphere, due to time differences.

The Israeli center will be the only one to function on Sundays. Baan was established by two Dutch brothers, both religious Calvinists, and therefore the support centers are closed on Sundays. The Israel center will be the only one to function on Sundays, providing service for Baan customers throughout the world.

Baan Israel was established in March 1997. It supplies ERP software, mainly for the industrial sector in Israel, and claims control over 50% of the local market. The company today employs 40 people and functions through twenty business partners.
