The exclusive agreement is the second in the world, following a similar contract in Japan.
Steimatzky has reached an exclusive agreement with the Michelin company, according to which Steimatzky will translate the company's travel guides and maps into Hebrew. The agreement is considered unique, as Michelin publishes and distributes its guides itself all over the world, except in Japan. Israel will be only the second country in the world in which the guides will be distributed by a local licensee.
Steimatzky will publish Michelin's green series, considered the best in the world in its field. Until now, Steimatzky has distributed Michelin guides in English, French, German and Spanish.
Michelin published more than 360 travel guides in 16 languages and more than 220 maps, atlases and city maps. The company publishes 13 guides to hotels and restaurants in Europe, and the company’s publications are distributed in 70 countries at more than 35,000 points of sale.
