Tadiran Purchases Microwave Radio Communications Division from California Microwave for $35 Mln

Tadiran CEO Israel Zamir said that the acquisition is a result of company strategy of expanding its position as a leading international player in the field of radio and telecommunications.

Tadiran announced today that it has signed an agreement to purchase the microwave radio communications division of US company California Microwave, for $35 million.

The division purchased by Tadiran engages in the development and manufacture of radio equipment for a wide range of products in wireless microwave communications. The division manufactures systems and components which provide the infrastructure for cellular telephone systems.

Tadiran CEO Israel Zamir said that the acquisition is a result of company strategy of expanding its position as a leading international player in the field of radio and telecommunications. Division sales in ’97 amounted to $83 million. The company’s main customers are cellular telephone network providers and wireless communications infrastructure companies.
