One deals with the capital market, the other with investments in Israel.
Two business conventions on the topic of investments in Israel will be held next month in New York. A convention on the topic of investments and the capital market in Israel will be held in the Waldorf Astoria on from September 25-26. The second convention, to be held on October 8-10 in the Sheraton Hotel, New York, will not be restricted to the capital market but will deal with business in Israel generally.
The second convention, named “New Leadership, New Opportunities”, is based on a new concept reminiscent of business fairs and exhibitions, since it encourages participants to cut deals on the spot.
Ministers Ariel Sharon, Limor Livnat and Yizhak Levy will attend the conference and will meet with business persons and potential investors.
Sharon said he will announce tenders for $50 billion in infrastructure projects. Among projects being offered for tender: the Cross Israel Highway and Project Nazareth 2000.
The convention on Israel’s capital market has been organised by Dow Jones and Zacks Associates, in partnership with The “Wall Street Journal” . It is being sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce. Speakers will include Minister of Finance Dan Meridor and Governor of the Bank of Israel, Yaakov Frenkel.
