Minister of Transport Yitzhak Levy said at the weekend that as long as he serves as Transport Minister, no Israeli ports will be privatised. "The subject", Levy said, "is complicated and highly problematic, and best kept out of. There is a long list of operations that are related to the Ministry of Transport, that must be handled first. I am not against privatisation, many operations related to the ministry are currently being privatised". Levy was speaking this weekend at a meeting of the Haifa and the North businessmen’s club, of the Haifa and the North Manufacturers Association and of the regional Chamber of Commerce.
