Meta Group: Business E-mail Use in Israel Lags Behind World

The group estimates that, in the next two years, $160 million will be invested in Israel in setting up CRM (Customer Relations Management) systems. A conference by the Israel Technology Association (ITA) will be held on the subject next week.

Meta Group Israel consulting company general manager Jimmy Schwartzkopf believes that Israel considerably lags behind the rest of the world in customer relations via e-mail. "Overseas, entire sectors have developed via the e-mail, such as market research, sales campaigns, allocation of personal mail boxes for customers, etc.," said Schwartzkopf, "but in Israel, the use of e-mail for customer relations is almost non-existent."

Nuturing ties with customers via e-mail is part of Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems, which is regarded as one of the latest developments in organizational computerization. Meta Group estimates that, in the next two years, $160 million will be invested in CRM.
