Kalanit has announced an upgrade of the Hebrew version for 3Com Palm computers. The version includes Hebrew graffiti, which will enable users to write messages on the screen by hand. This version also includes a Hebrew calendar with dates of Jewish holidays, Sabbath candle lighting times, weekly Torah portions, and more.
According to Kalanit’s marketing manager, in the next few months, the company will offer an update to its customers which turns the Palm into a full Hebrew diary: all the menus will appear from right to left, and writing will be from right to left. Users preferring the English interface will be able to combine it with Hebrew graffiti.
Palm is also distributed in Israel by Harel, a company that is itself developing a Hebrew computer operating system.
