The Dan Region Association of Towns for Sewage and Ecology is to set up a system of thirty-two stations for measuring air pollution in the Dan region. It will focus on mapping those areas that suffer transport pollution. It will cost NIS 5 million to set up the stations, and the annul cost of operation and data processing is estimated at NIS 300,000. The Association will put up the financing.
The plan calls for thirty-two mobile and stationary stations to do the mapping. They will be positioned near ground level, in the proximity of motor vehicles and passers-by. The location of the surveying points will be determined in accordance with public and private transportation volumes throughout the Dan region. The survey will take place round the clock and in all seasons.
