Since the beginning of the week, the race by public figures for key positions has dominated the political scene - both in the incoming ruling party, and the outgoing. A "Globes" survey re-examined two of these races.
Q: Four names are mentioned among One Israel’s Knesset members as candidates for the finance portfolio: Shlomo Ben-Ami, Baiga Shochat, Yossi Beilin and Haim Ramon. In your opinion, who is the most suitable choice?
A: Ben-Ami 26% (30% in the previous survey); Shochat 22% (18%); Beilin 11% (13%); Ramon 14% (18%); none of the above 12% (11%); no answer 15% (10%).
This means that only slight changes have taken place in the public’s preferences in the three weeks between the surveys, similar to the sampling error margin. Ben-Ami and Ramon dropped slightly, Shochat rose slightly, and the remainder went to those with no answer.
Q: Three public figures are contending for the Likud chairmanship: Ariel Sharon, Ehud Olmert and Meir Sheetrit. In your opinion, who is the most suitable choice?
A: Ariel Sharon 27%, Ehud Olmert 25%, Meir Sheetrit 30%, none of the above 7%, no answer 11%.
