Yigal Bar-Yosef is Candidate for Senior Amdocs Executive Post

Estimate: Bar-Yosef will remain in Pele-Phone at least until the new price policy is fully implemented.

Pele-Phone general manager Yigal Bar-Yosef is a candidate for a senior executive post in Amdocs, "Globes" has learnt. It is estimated that Bar-Yosef, who is currently leading strategic developments in Pele-Phone, will stay in the company to see through their implementation.

Bar-Yosef came to Pele-Phone from Digital about two years ago, replacing Benny Einhorn, who was acting general manager following the departure of former general manager Eyal Levy.

Since he joined Pele-Phone, Bar-Yosef has had to cope with difficult problems stemming from the deterioration in the quality of service provided by the overloaded analog network, as well as from insufficient preparations for the move to digital technology. Call theft exacerbated the crisis. It was followed by difficulties in digital network application, which tarnished the company’s image. Since Bar-Yosef assumed his present post, all senior Pele-Phone executives have been replaced.

Pelephone is estimated to have 900,000 subscribers. Last month Bar-Yosef launched a new price policy, whereby air-time tariffs were reduced by 25% and air-minute packages were introduced.

Amdocs general manager Avi Naor said in response, "I can neither confirm nor deny the report. We do not comment on the candidacy of individuals for posts in our company."

Bar-Yosef said in reaction, "At present I’m totally absorbed by Pele-Phone’s marketing campaign, which is my paramount concern."

Pele-Phone’s spokesman said in response, "Yigal Bar-Yosef is appreciated in the market as a professional executive with considerable experience in the sector. He occasionally receives proposals for senior executive posts, notably in the high tech sector."
