During the last two years, Orbotech has reinforced its status as a supplier of optical systems for testing the quality of flat screens.
Japanese company Sharp, one of the leading world’s manufacturers of flat screens, has announced that it will install testing systems made by Orbotech of Israel in its new plant in the city of Mie in Japan. The value of the transaction is over $3 million.
Sharp’s management announced that the new plant will operate as a "virtual plant", and will therefore require the most reliable systems in order to shorten production time and expedite the readiness of its products for marketing. "Orbotech’s testing systems have achieved the best results on our production lines."
During the last two years, Orbotech has reinforced its status as a supplier of optical systems for testing the quality of flat screens. These systems are installed on the screens’ production line and control their quality in real time, so that production errors can be repaired immediately.
