Alstom seeks to be declared the winner of the train tender.
Jack Alstom has withdrawn its court petition for a temporary injunction prohibiting implementation of the Canadian company Bombardier's win in a Ports and Railways Authority tender to supply double-decker rail-cars.
Alstom's principal claim is to be declared the winner of the railway tender, or, alternatively, to have the tender proceedings cancelled.
The tender was for the purchase of double-decker rail-cars pulled by diesel-powered locomotives, the rail-cars being powered by overhead electric cables. This type of rail-car has never been used by trains in Israel. The tender project is unique and very complicated technologically,
