Fifty companies, including Elbit, Israel Aircraft Industries, El-Op, Tadiran, Rafael, and NICE, qualify for the projects.
The Israel Export Institute (IEI) is taking measures to include Israeli companies in projects for constructing and upgrading airports around the world. IEI sources say that such projects will amount to $250 billion by 2010. IEI conducted a survey to locate Israeli companies qualifying for participation in such projects.
According to IEI general manager Amir Hayek, a senior executive from German company Siemens arrived in Israel this week to discuss the issue with executives from Israeli companies. According to Hayek, advanced Israeli technology in the communications, software and navigation sectors plays an important part in projects for constructing new airports and upgrading existing ones around the world.
The survey located 50 Israeli companies, including Elbit, Israel Aircraft Industries, El-Op, Tadiran, Rafael (Israel’s Weapons Development Authority), and NICE Systems, that qualify for participation in such projects.
