Softbank Chair Ron Fisher to Participate in Israel Business Conference

AOL founder and CEO Steve Case will participate via satellite video conference.

Softbank US chairman Ron Fisher and AOL president and CEO Steve Case will participate in this year's Israel Business Conference, hosted by "Globes". The conference takes place December 11-13 in Tel Aviv.

Fisher will speak on "The Key to Making Non-American Companies Succeed in the US Internet Market." Case's speech will close the conference, direct from the US via satellite.

Japanese concern Softbank is one of the world's leading entities in the Internet field, investing billions of dollars annually in companies such as Yahoo!, Buy.com, E-trade and ZDNet. Softbank has invested $2 billion in over 100 leading Internet firms and works in cooperation with, among others, Microsoft, Cisco Systems and NASDAQ.

AOL is the world's largest Internet company, with a workforce of 12,000 and annual revenues of $3.3 billion. AOL, which went public in 1992, operates in 10 countries and serves over 3 million subscribers outside the US.

This year's Israel Business Conference is divided into 6 different areas of interest: Telecommunications, the Media Age, Investment and Finance, Business Opportunities in the Middle East, Retailing and Consumer Goods, Real Estate, and Infrastructure. 4,000 people from 30 countries are expected to attend the conference, among them international company heads, entrepreneurs and investors.
