Fuel company Alon recently started work on eight new projects combining fuel stations with shopping centres. The projects are going up at Beit Keshet, near Moshav Urim, at Moshav Galia, in the Lev Hamifratz Mall in Haifa Bay, at Lehavot Haviva, at Ein Ela, at Ein Carmel and at Ramat Rachel. Alon's general manager David Weissman says total investment in the projects stands at $10 million.
The fuel stations will have computerised self-service systems (with no gas pump attendants), operating round the clock. These systems were developed by Point of Sale.
Alon plans to open 15 fuel stations by the end of the year. Alon is the new owner of Dor Energy. Between them, the two companies own more than 100 fuel stations.
