MIER Communications (MIERComms) announced that it has presented its "NAA(TM)" award to Allot Communications' AC301 QoS, IP Traffic and SLA Managing product at ComNet 2000. The test was conducted with Allot's high-end enforcer, NetEnforcer AC301 supporting 100Mbps. The award is based on recent testing conducted at the MIERComms Labs.
Ed Mier, president of MIERComms, said, "The NetEnforcer AC301 provided exceptional traffic prioritization capabilities. The NetEnforcer absolutely protects high-priority traffic from loss, even under heavy overload conditions. This was exemplified when we tested it with voice-over-IP (VoIP). It provided guaranteed bandwidth on a per-call basis to ensure that the VoIP traffic would be handled with the highest priority. Prioritization works well, even on heavy, 100-Mbps LAN-to-T3 links."
Rob Smithers, MIERComms Vice President of Technology, noted, "One of the key features of the NetEnforcer AC301 is its ability to easily monitor traffic conditions, which is crucial for determining effective policy settings. We also found that the AC301 was one of the easiest products we've tested to configure for traffic prioritization and shaping.
"The product is also feature rich," continued Smithers, "including extensive fail-over capabilities and a bypass mode of operation that we found particularly effective. In the opinion of MIERComms testing staff, the NetEnforcer AC301 fully meets the expectations of the user community for which it is designed. Furthermore, we think the product is a `good buy' based on its superb performance as compared to other leading IP prioritization products we've evaluated."
"We were pleased to independently validate the NetEnforcer's outstanding performance," stated Azi Ronen, vice-president marketing for Allot, "and have the product meet and exceed the industry standard guidelines to be awarded the `NetWORKS As Advertised' Award from MIERComms Labs."
