Walla!, which operates the leading portal in Israel, is setting up a media network for selling Internet advertising space - the Walla! network. The network will focus on marketing advertising space on a series of leading Internet sites. The sites to be marketed by Walla! were chosen by two criteria: the recognition value of the site name and the quality of the site's content.
Advertising space on the Walla! portal is estimated at 21 million advertisements, viewed by 450,000 surfers per month. Following the establishment of the network, the Walla! deputy general manager for marketing expects a doubling of the number of viewed advertisements and an increase in the number of surfers to 700,000 per month. The company estimated that 60% of Internet advertisements on in 1999 were marketed through Walla!.
The Walla! network is based on the Ad Service system, which facilitates effective management of Internet advertising campaigns. Walla! Communications of the Formula group is listed on the Tel Aviv stock exchange.
